It’s Legit!!

Just received an email from our intake coordinator at America World Adoption.  We have been accepted!!  The joy is overwhelming, as we realize this is a reality, and God has made it possible.  Praise the Father, from whom all blessings flow!!

Now…the work begins.  We are raising funds to help with this redemptive journey.  We sent out 100 letters last night, stayed up till 1:00am stuffing envelopes, and will stuff 160 more tonight, to mail out.  If you are interested in helping financially, please email me: and let me know.  Thank you in advance for any help offered.  In addition, we covet  your prayers during this process, for our family!  Thank you, and God bless you!

Hey Cordes family! We’ve just received your letter. I would love to talk to you about your adoption. One of my very best friends, Kathy McKinney, works at, the foundation Steven and Mary Beth Chapman established to help Christian parents with the expense of adoption. If you haven’t applied for a grant, please do so. I’ll let Kathy know your application is coming. She will be the one to call and interview you.

Also, I have friends, Gwen Oatsvall and Suzanne Mayernick, who have started a business/support system for adoption called 147 million. They have products and other things you can sell to raise funds for your adoption. In the process, you will also help feed orphans in Uganda and give jobs to women in Africa who make some of the items. Also, Chick Fil-a will let you host a night at their store for a fundraiser. A family I know who adopted from Uganda raised almost all they needed on a super rainy night….they just publicized it through their church/school. I’m full of ideas and would love to sit and share with you over a cup of coffee about it!

I’m too old to adopt myself, but I have many friends who have and I love to get in on it! Bring babies home to their forever families!

Hi Cordes Family! My husband Brian and I live in Katy, and we’re in the process of adopting 2 boys from Ethiopia. It will be so great to meet you! Brian is the pastor of discipleship at Grace Fellowship UMC.

I saw on the message you sent to our Yahoo group that Vanessa is a French teacher. I have had a long-time dream to learn French, and I even have the Rosetta Stone for it, but I would love a little one-on-one instruction. Vanessa, would you be game to tutor me in French?

So happy for your family as you journey through this adoption!
